Off-grid solar power systems for business

An off-grid system is designed to operate without an external power grid. A hybrid system combines the grid, solar generation and storage, and can provide backup power. If a grid connection exists but outages are frequent, compare both options against the required loads and operating time.

Operating time depends on consumption, usable battery capacity, solar output and generator availability. Solar capacity in kW alone does not determine the number of hours. We calculate operating time for the agreed loads and schedule.

Solar output varies with season and weather, so we assess periods of low generation. At night, loads use stored energy or another source included in the design. A generator may be needed when solar energy remains insufficient for an extended period.

This depends on the operating schedule, available stored energy and acceptable interruptions. If loads must remain powered through prolonged cloudy weather, we assess generator support. Its connection and controls must be compatible with the inverter and other components.

The estimate depends on panel and inverter capacity, battery storage, generator support, protection and installation complexity. Sites with the same power demand can require different storage and controls. We prepare a configuration and estimate after reviewing the site data.

Provide the site address, consumption data and an equipment list with power ratings and operating schedules. Specify the required operating time, critical circuits, grid conditions and any existing generator. Photos of the roof, installation area and electrical switchboard help us prepare an initial design.
