Solar power plant design

We design solar PV around your business site, electrical demand and budget. Before work starts, we agree the input information, document scope and responsibilities. You receive drawings, calculations and specifications within that scope to agree technical decisions and prepare for installation.

What the design package includes

We define the document scope in the design brief, accounting for the solar configuration, existing electrical infrastructure and site connection conditions.

Connection diagrams

We develop single-line and schematic electrical drawings, defining connection and protection arrangements within the agreed design boundaries.

Equipment layout

We show the positions of modules, inverters and other equipment, accounting for available areas, site constraints and maintenance access.

3D visualisation

We create a model to agree the layout. It helps assess positioning but does not replace working drawings and calculations.

Cable routes

We establish routes and cable cross-sections based on loads, distances and installation conditions. We clarify the scope of changes to existing electrical infrastructure.

Equipment specification

We list modules, inverters, mounting systems and components. Batteries and backup circuits are included when specified in the agreed brief.

Yield forecast

We model generation in PVsyst or PVsol, recording the configuration, orientation, shading and assumed losses so the forecast can be checked against its inputs.
Process

How we develop the design

We agree the inputs, technical decisions and handover package. Changes to equipment or requirements after agreement are considered separately.

Design brief

We collect assessment findings, plans, demand data and connection documents. We define objectives, capacity, budget, document scope and responsibility for missing inputs.

Engineering decisions

We develop drawings, layouts, calculations and specifications. We clarify structural and existing infrastructure issues that require separate work.

Review and coordination

We agree technical decisions with the client. Support for required network operator approvals follows the agreed scope, with its timing separate from design work.

Documentation handover

We deliver the agreed package against a document list and explain key decisions. File formats, document versions and change procedures are agreed before handover.
Details

Approvals, timing and cost

The proposal separates design work, external approvals and additional services. Installation and commissioning checks have their own scope.

Connection support

We prepare and submit documents for technical conditions and a connection agreement when required and included in the agreed scope. The network operator’s decision depends on more than a completed design.

Design schedule

The proposal defines timing based on site complexity, document scope and the completeness of inputs. External approvals are considered separately.

Work scope and cost

Design cost is based on the agreed brief. For a combined project, we specify which design services the proposal includes and how they are accounted for in the budget.
Common Questions

Questions about solar power plant design

Discuss your solar plant design

Send your site details, electricity demand and intended solar operating mode. We will clarify the inputs, document scope, schedule and cost.
