Financing
Solar loans for business
A loan can finance an agreed share of a solar installation's cost, with repayment under a bank contract. Choosing an offer requires current written terms, a project budget and an assessment of the company's ability to repay. ONG Solar helps align the PV project with financing. The bank determines the rate, security, term and credit decision for the individual application.
- Amount and equity
- Identify the budget share covered by borrowing and the costs the company funds itself.
- Financing cost
- Include interest, fees and mandatory related costs specified in the offer.
- Payments across the year
- Compare repayment dates with business cash flow and seasonal electricity savings.
- Bank decision
- We help prepare project inputs. Approval and disbursement depend on the lender.

Six terms to check
Compare offers for the same equipment scope, budget and term. Record the calculation date and offer validity so that terms from different programmes are not combined.
- Eligible project costs: Check whether equipment, installation, design and taxes are covered. The equity contribution and costs outside the loan need their own source of funds.
- Interest and all charges: Record whether interest is fixed or variable, how it is reset, and which fees are upfront or recurring. Add valuation, insurance and security documentation costs where required.
- Schedule and first payment: Check disbursement and repayment dates, interest during any principal deferral, and the final outstanding balance. A smaller initial payment alone does not establish a lower total cost.
- Security and equipment: Clarify collateral, guarantees, insurance requirements and restrictions on the equipment. Check when ownership transfers against the supply contract and other transaction documents.
- Conditions before disbursement: Check supplier payment arrangements, evidence of the equity contribution and documents needed at each stage. A preliminary decision does not mean all disbursement conditions have been met.
- Changes during the term: Establish the rules for early repayment, schedule changes and construction delays. Refinancing, support or compensation requires separate confirmation before it can be included in the budget.
When a loan fits the company's needs
This is an initial assessment checklist, not a universal set of bank requirements. Borrower eligibility, documents and programme availability require separate confirmation.
- A defined budget: The PV specification, estimate, payment stages and equity funds are identified. Equipment changes should be reflected in both the technical proposal and the application.
- Documented business information: The company can supply the financial and registration materials requested by the bank. Existing loans and other obligations are assessed alongside the new payment.
- A prepared site: The installation location, rights to use the roof or land, and technical prerequisites are understood. Unresolved site issues can change the budget and delivery schedule.
- A reserve for weaker months: Cash flow must cover payments when generation is lower or commissioning is delayed. Annual savings do not establish that sufficient cash is available in every month.
- Alternatives compared: Compare borrowing with equity funding and leasing for the same project scope. For energy service models, separately check the contract's subject, payment basis and each party's responsibilities.
From a PV budget to a financing decision
This sequence helps assess an offer before commitments are made. Review time and disbursement arrangements depend on the bank, completeness of the documents and transaction terms.
- Define the project: Establish consumption, an indicative system specification, budget and available equity funds.
- Obtain terms: Request a current company-specific offer covering amount, term, interest, payments and security.
- Compare costs: Compare total payments and monthly cash requirements, including PV servicing and a cash reserve.
- Prepare the application: Agree the required project materials and documents. Application support is available through the separate service linked below.
- Check the contracts: After the bank's decision, reconcile the agreed estimate, supply schedule and disbursement conditions. The company decides whether to sign.
